Bonjour Beautiful! I'm glad you're here!
I'm SJ and I'm a hopeless romantic obsessed with all things French! In fact, I didn't start out dreaming of being a photographer. I thought I was going to be a French teacher! But midway through graduate school, I purchased a camera "on accident," and decided it was time to get serious about this hobby of mine.
Now, 10 years later, I'm following my accidental calling as a wedding photographer (while still driving my husband nuts with my French obsession)! Speaking of my husband, he may not share my obsession with the land of amazing pastries and champagne, but he does make a wonderful assistant and occasional second shooter (when he's not at home wrangling our kiddos while I'm out capturing love stories) so you may see his handsome face from time to time!

One way I ensure that my brides and grooms enjoy the BEST photographic experience possible is through forming a relationship with my couples. I try my best to make sure that all of my couples are the PERFECT fit before officially booking. A bride and groom should connect with their photographer, trust their photographer and be EXCITED about the whole process with them! After all, aside from your friends and family, I'm the person who will be with you throughout the day, so it's important my couples are comfortable with me!
After booking, I love getting to know my clients through an ENGAGEMENT SESSION that helps them warm up to the camera so that they are ready to rock and roll on the wedding day! By the time the wedding day arrives, my clients feel more like friends and that creates a safe and relaxed environment for photography! engagement sessions
I'm so excited to be working with you and can’t wait for our time together during your engagement session!
I'm a big fan of engagement sessions for a few reasons. First, they allow you to get comfortable in front of the camera. It takes time for most couples to warm up to being photographed and learn some core poses. Timelines can be pretty tight on weddings days and 30 minutes may be all we have for portraits - I've found that wedding day portraits turn out so much better when couples do engagement sessions ahead of time.
Second, you can showcase your personalities in a more casual setting that is significant to the two of you (and even include pets!). While they’re great for save-the-dates, I've taken engagement photos anywhere from 18 months in advance to a few days before the wedding.
You'll be able to share your images easily with an online gallery!
I average 75-100 images per hour shooting. I love delivering my client’s files quickly and easily via an online gallery. You will have the ability to print, share, and download your wedding images as much as you want. I believe in freely sharing your wedding day because that is what I would want if we were in your shoes!
